Description
Three-phase voltage relay for photovoltaics DigiTOP VP-3F10Af is designed to protect single-phase or three-phase consumers from excessively high line voltage or to connect an additional consumer in a photovoltaic installation. The device prevents breakdowns and extends the life of electrical devices. With a choice of three-phase or three independent single-phase relays.
The relay monitors the upper voltage limit. If this voltage limit is exceeded, the load is switched off (or an additional load can be connected to the power take-off). The load is automatically switched on (off) as soon as the voltage drops to the upper voltage limit minus the voltage drop (hysteresis) after the set response time. I.e. if the upper limit is set to 253 V and the hysteresis is 10 V, then when exceeding 253 V the load will be turned off, and if it drops to 243 V, then after the set response time (from 0 to 10 seconds) the load will be turned on. The relay has three changeover contacts – one for each phase.
Lowering the voltage at a photovoltaic installation is important for safety and efficiency reasons.
Excessive voltage can cause surges and damage to the installation and connected equipment. Surges can arise when there is a sudden increase in power or decrease in resistance in a circuit. Too high a voltage can also increase the risk of electrocution. It is important to adapt the voltage of the photovoltaic installation to the requirements of the devices and networks to which it will be connected.
