Description
DigiTOP VP-16Af voltage relay is designed to protect electrical devices and household appliances from excessive line voltage.
The relay operates in maximum voltage relay mode and protects electrical equipment from excessive line voltage (can be used to connect an additional consumer in a photovoltaic installation).
The device monitors the upper voltage limit. If this voltage limit is exceeded, the load is switched off (or an additional load can be connected to the power take-off). The load is automatically switched on (off) as soon as the voltage drops to the upper voltage limit minus the voltage drop (hysteresis) after the set response time. That is, if the upper limit is set to 253 V and the hysteresis is 10 V, the load will be turned off when 253 V is exceeded, and if it drops to 243 V, the load will be turned on after the set response time (from 0 to 10 seconds).
Reducing the voltage in a photovoltaic installation is important for safety and efficiency reasons.
Too high a voltage can cause overvoltage and damage to the installation and devices connected to it. Surges can arise when there is a sudden increase in power or decrease in resistance in a circuit. Excessive voltage can also increase the risk of electric shock.
It is important to adapt the voltage of the photovoltaic installation to the requirements of the devices and networks to which it will be connected.
